Versailles

Great weather and great company made for a perfect day at Versailles. Peter and Kristy Crane were visiting and so they were able to join us on our journey.
The kids adore them so it made it that much more fun.

There was an enormous pile of leaves that the kids spent an hour or so jumping in. It was fun to watch the people pass because nobody could resist the call of the leaves.

Many times we could not even see the kids, they would be totally buried.
We ate our picnic here so the kids could really enjoy the benefit of someone else's hard work. I sure am glad I didn't have to rake those up.

Haven't you always wanted to do that?

Would you ever have guessed Minnie Mouse would visit Versailles?
Some things just aren't worth the battle.

Renting bikes was the highlight of our day. We rode all over for about two and a half hours. It was a great way to see so much of the grounds.

We sure were glad they had a bike
with a carrier on the back for Sophie, we were all able to stay together this way. We were also very glad that Peter & Kristy were with us to help keep track of everyone. We sort of looked like we just popped out of The Sound of Music.
