Luxembourg

April 24, 2008
What good travelers we have. We spent many, many hours in our car on this journey and the kids were terrific. There's no end to the fun you can have in a tiny minivan.Ah Ha! We have found the place where we belong.
More than once we have been reminded how "weird" we are".

Dallas is so excited to get out of the car for one more photo he can hardly stand it.
This was the photo we made them get out for. I just love driving down these little streets and right in front of you there is little church. In most cases it is the church the village was built around. I saw this one and couldn't resist stopping.

It appears to be in great shape and still in use.
The doorknob reminded me to "Hold to the Rod".
As we were standing there posing so nicely a certain aroma came over us that was quite overwhelming, there were animals in the field next door but we're still not sure what it was coming from.
It's not everyday you can find a castle for a potty break. We were fortunate to find this one in a very small village in Belgium, and to have it open was even better, it was one of the cheap ones it was only .15 per person.
The grounds surrounding the castle were beautiful and had reindeer roaming about.
This is some of Jesse's creative photography in giving Sophie antlers.

What a beautiful city. We found a parking spot in the center of town which allowed us a great view. It sort of took your breath away as you looked down. This photo will always make us smile. There was a group of Asian tourists looking over the bridge and snapping photos just like we were. We decided to ask one of them if they would take a family picture for us, the gentleman was happy to help and counted all of the children before he took the picture. When he was done he motioned for us to take a picture for him. Mark took his camera to get ready and the kids started to move out of the way so they could stand where we had been standing and he said, "No, no" and stood right next to the kids. He wanted his picture with our kids. I only wish I would have snapped one with our camera. The kids thought that was so funny.

The city streets in Luxembourg.
It wouldn't seem complete without at least one beautiful door from Luxembourg.
After a long day in the car we arrived in Saarbuecken, Germany. We found a beautiful park with several huge play structures-the kids were in heaven. The river ran along side the park and it was such a great night to be outside, the perfect ending to a long travel day. I love the graffiti eyes watching Jess.
The sand was calling to Mark, he has always wanted a backhoe to play on.
