La nuit avant Noël- The Night before Christmas or Veille de Noël- Christmas Eve

It is finally here, Christmas Eve. The kids thought it would never come. We had to run to the store for a few last minute items and what to our surprise we saw St Nic. and Litchi's. Mark was so excited we bought about 15lbs. He ate these when he was in South Africa at Christmas and it brought back some good memories. The kids were anxious to try this new treat.
The kids obviously love them as much as he does. They managed this pile in about 15 minutes.
Mark really wanted ham for Christmas dinner, but I don't think this is what he had in mind. We settled on a pork roast instead.

Oh the stockings. We did not bring our stockings with us and so Mark is explaining to the kids that they can hang one of his big socks, they could choose from either his basketball socks or the ones he wore on the plane, but that was the best we could do. (Obviously not well received.) He then pulled out their Christmas stockings.

He had gone to the house and found the Christmas bucket that they were in and brought them so they could each hang their own stocking.

Christmas Eve dinner this year was Raclette. The kids were so excited to show dad how this works and how yummy it is!

After dinner the entertainment began. We had FM100 Christmas music piped into the stereo and boy do we have some good performers. I thought they would collapse from all the dancing, but you know how that Night before Christmas adrenaline is- it just keeps going and going and going.
After a few games and reading the Christmas story we did finally get them to go to bed! Logan was really worried that Santa had a scheduled time of arrival and we may miss it if we weren't in bed. He must have asked what time it was 1,000 times.
We will be anxious to talk to everyone on Christmas-but since we will be up before most of you let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas!!
