Notre Maison - Our house

The front of our house. This is the room you enter as you walk through the front door, our living room. As you can see we are all ready for Christmas.

Salon The dining room and all purpose room. We love this room and have held many activities in here. When we move the table it is the perfect rope jumping, jack playing and performance room ever. It is always so bright because of all the windows and the new glass roof.

It opens into the backyard, which we love and when it's warm we can open the doors and let the fresh air in.

The kitchen- I feel very lucky to have so many cabinets and a totally functional kitchen.

La cuisine
This may look a little scary to you, but it is not, it is almost a room in itself. This is the entrance to the cave (basement) sometimes you feel like you are entering a cave. Notice the red paint as a reminder to duck so you don't knock yourself out when you get to the bottom of the stairs. It is not really a problem for me, but Mark is another story.

This is the cave! The brown cooler is for the wine,(unfortunately it is locked, darnit) but the white one is a freezer. This is not very common here and I am grateful to have it.

It actually smells a little like a cave.

Annie, Jesse and sometimes Sophie's room, she rotates between the girls room and the boys room. It is a good size and they have enjoyed it.

La chambre des filles.

This is the boys room. They haven't even complained about the pink wallpaper. The futon in the middle is where Sophie will sleep if she decides she wants to sleep in their room.

Le chambre des garcons.

The master. It is a very large room and has two windows so it is bright and cheery. We have the computer in here so it is a well used room.
This is the landing as you come up the stairs, and right off the master. There are bookcases that go along the back wall full of French, German and some English books. The kids have had a great time reading in here.

We love the house it is very functional and cozy! We spend a lot of time here together and that's the best part. We have realized it doesn't take much to make a house a home and your home is where your heart is. It has been fun making this our home.
(Our hearts are still with all of you, but for 11 months we have our hearts here.)
